Management at OK MART Taiwan was faced with aging equipment and eminent danger from the year 2000 bug. Circle K management decided to replace all of their electronic cash registers and point-of-sale terminals to solve their Y2K problem and upgrade their equipment to the latest state-of-the-art. They needed more speed and diverse information from their terminals.
OK MART began a search for replacement equipment and carefully considered a number of world-renown brands, as well as POSIFLEX. After much testing and comparison, POSIFLEX was selected for their superior quality and design. The model chosen was the POSIFLEX PST-1010 with hard drive.
All 450 OK MART stores in Taiwan will have two PST-1010 terminals installed per store. The installations are scheduled to be completed by September 1999. OK MART is also opening 25 new stores per month from July 1999, until June 2000. All of these new stores will also be fitted with PST-1010's. There will be a total of 1500 POSIFLEX terminals installed at OK MART "This is one of the largest installations in Taiwan," said Owen Chen, CEO of POSIFLEX. "It was made possible partly because of our excellent reputation for reliability , design and quality," Chen said
